Receding Hairline Symptoms and Age
A receding hairline can occur in both men and women, though it’s more common in men. For women, it may happen in frontal fibrosing alopecia and traction alopecia and create V-shape in front (also called widow peak). For men, a receding hairline typically start happening between the ages of 17 and 29, and may reach to mature hairline, gradually become as pattern balding. By the age of 50, it affects more than half of all men. It’s often accompanied by a bald spot on the crown of the head and thinning on top.
There are many causes of receding hairline, such as:
